This blog used to be called “Written Engineer.” I chose that title because it combined writing and engineering, the two things which I do mostly professionally, and because I thought it was clever and would help me get into grad school. I like the idea of having a blog, but I’m too nervous to put everything I think out on the Internet. I like having a website, because it’s independent of social media platforms, which as we’re all starting to see, sort of expire after a decade or so.

Anyways. I’m a licensed civil engineer and most of my work is in the area of water resources. Water flows downhill. I have a master’s degree in English and I wrote a thesis about combining literature and engineering. The idea still has a ways to go. I enjoyed teaching English for a year and I’ll still edit your essay (for a fee, of course) if you want to send it to me.

I also fly airplanes and run 15-25 miles per week. I tell myself I need to run more, but I haven’t bothered to rearrange my life accordingly, so clearly I don’t care that much. I have my private pilot’s license and I’ll get my instrument rating later on. Sometime, I’d like to fly a Jenny.
